Hepatitis C: Screening and Linkage to Care
Speaker: Robert Wong, MD, Director of Research and Education, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Highland Hospital

This presentation will highlight the current national screening recommendations for the diagnosis and management of chronic HCV infection. We will identify high risk groups that would benefit from HCV screening. We will review the evidence regarding current rates of successful linkage of care and identify barriers to achieving successful linkage of care. We will review the diagnostic evaluation and management of chronic HCV, including a brief overview of the treatment approach and treatment options available.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the epidemiology and natural history of chronic hepatitis C
2. Learn the appropriate treatment algorithms and diagnostic workup of these conditions
3. Identify strategies to help improve linkage of care after HCV diagnosis
