Asian Health Services, on August 8, ushered in the Grand Opening of its new AHS 835 Clinic in Oakland Chinatown with a crowd of 300 participants who came to celebrate this significant milestone. VIPs who spoke at the event included US Congresswoman, Barbara Lee, State Assembly member Rob Bonta, Oakland City Council President Pat Kernighan, The California Endowment’s Dr. Anthony Iton, Ray Baxter of Kaiser Permanente, and Alex Briscoe, Director of Alameda County Health Care Services Agency.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony, a traditional Chinese lion dance as a symbol of luck and prosperity, and the unveiling of the new AHS 835 clinic sign followed. Guests, including long time AHS supporters, Chinatown agencies, and neighborhood residents, enjoyed a reception, live music, and tours of the new 15,000 sq. ft. clinic. Asian Health Services is pleased to continue its services to all the underserved immigrants in the greater Chinatown community and surrounding areas.
